The Open Access Teaching Case Journal publishes factual teaching cases from real organisations, reviewed through a double-anonymous process by independent subject-matter experts. Cases are free to read and free to publish, and are distributed globally by The Case Centre.

Peer review & governanceOATCJ is aligned with the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). The journal supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals by offering a multi-disciplinary, openly licensed repository of real-world teaching cases for students and instructors, free of charge to read and to publish. The journal provides a developmental peer-review process for case authors without financial barriers, and is supported by a reviewer community drawn from a broad range of scholarly disciplines.
At the end of the 2024 racing season, the management team of the Formula One Group was celebrating the successful year that had concluded with both the high level of racing entertainment and the motorsport’s strong financial results. Reflecting on their goals and achievements for the coming year, the management team agreed upon a net-zero carbon footprint goal for the Formula 1 (F1) racing series by 2030.
In October 2024, Moti Lal, a newcomer to Sudbury, Ontario, Canada from Kerala, India faced a dilemma regarding the future of the multi-channel social media platform he developed for the Malayali community, Malayali360 (M360), to connect newcomers interested in gaining information regarding major purchases, financial decisions and cultural adaptation. M360 was launched in 2022 and had grown to over 150,000 members by 2024.
n 2011, John Bowey, a newly elected Board member of the Economical Mutual Insurance Company (Economical) headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, found himself navigating a governance minefield. Economical was one of the largest property and casualty mutual insurance companies in Canada.
In June 2022, Twitter, a worldwide social media platform founded by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, Evan Williams, and Noah Glass in 2006, was at a critical crossroads: Should the company sustain its remote-first model that allowed the organization to remain in operation during the pandemic, or return to the previous working environment that provided the benefits and challenges of in-person work? The decision regarding the strategy to continue remote work or to return to physical offices would have profound and permanent ramifications across multiple areas within Twitter, including real estate plans, salary systems, workplace culture, and the ability to draw and keep exceptional talent.
