Submit a case
OATCJ accepts submissions on a rolling basis through our online platform. There are no submission fees and no publication fees.

Open submission portal
All manuscripts are submitted through the journal's Scholastica portal. You will need to create a free Scholastica account on first submission.
Submission checklist
Prepare the following files before opening the portal. You will upload them as separate files during the submission process.
- Case manuscript (MS Word). Anonymised: remove author names, acknowledgements, and institutional identifiers.
- Instructor's manual (MS Word). Also anonymised.
- Author certification page. The certification paragraph as specified in the author guidelines, on a separate page at the start of the submission.
- Case release form, signed by an authorised representative of the focal organisation. Not required if the case is built solely from publicly available sources; state this in the cover letter.

What happens next
- Editorial screen. Fit, scope, completeness, and anonymisation are confirmed.
- Reviewer assignment. Independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise are invited.
- Double-anonymous review. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Submissions typically require at least one revision round.
- Decision. Reviewer comments and an editorial decision letter are sent. Target: 60 days from submission.
- Revision and production. Revisions are evaluated by the editorial team. Accepted cases move to copy-editing and OATCJ style application.
- Publication. The case is released in an upcoming issue and distributed through The Case Centre.
Frequently asked
Can I submit a case published elsewhere?
No. OATCJ accepts only original, previously unpublished cases. Earlier conference-workshop versions are permitted; disclose them in the cover letter.
Can a student be a co-author?
Yes, when the student has contributed substantively. Graduate students and advanced undergraduates regularly co-author OATCJ cases.
Can I submit in a language other than English?
OATCJ currently publishes in English only.
