Abstract
In June 2022, Twitter, a worldwide social media platform founded by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, Evan Williams, and Noah Glass in 2006, was at a critical crossroads: Should the company sustain its remote-first model that allowed the organization to remain in operation during the pandemic, or return to the previous working environment that provided the benefits and challenges of in-person work? The decision regarding the strategy to continue remote work or to return to physical offices would have profound and permanent ramifications across multiple areas within Twitter, including real estate plans, salary systems, workplace culture, and the ability to draw and keep exceptional talent.
